Turkish citizens living in Beirut that have come under increasing threat due to the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon has been evacuated to Turkey. 1,200 Turkish citizens were evacuated from Lebanon on a Turkish Navy ferryboat.

Two evacuees has been arrested just after arriving  to Turkey being connected to Hizbollah.

It is said that there are about 25,000 to 30,000 Turkish citizens residing in Lebanon, and most are from the southeastern Turkish province of Mardin. Nearly 2,000 people have been evacuated from Lebanon since the start of the Israeli attacks.  In addition to the 1,200 Turkish citizens that were evacuated by ferryboat, around 800 were evacuated from Lebanon by bus. Tension escalated during the evacuation when it became apparent that some Turkish nations had been residing in Lebanon illegally. Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora gave these illegal Turkish emigrants permission to board the ferryboat and return home; however, they will have to pay a fine to the Lebanese government.
